VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL VERTICAL DANCE SUMMIT
Alongside artist workshops is a concurrent public symposium of free performance demos, engaging roundtables, artist talks, and dance films.
7 International Artistic Directors Will Share Their Talents Over 6 Days
Applicants to the advanced program must have prior vertical dance training and recent practice. Prior vertical dance experience is not required for participants attending intro/intermediate combined classes. If you are a professional performer with special access support requirements, please get in touch directly, so we can work together on making the VIVDS accessible to you. Other professional performers are invited to participate in a progressive class program introducing foundational skills in vertical dance safety and movement technique as well as exploring the art of dancing in suspension through masterclasses and creative labs.
VIVDS is co-presented by Aeriosa and Simon Fraser University Woodward’s Cultural Programs with support from the Canada Council for the Arts, The Province of British Columbia, The City of Vancouver and the Vertical Dance Forum, co-funded by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union
